Playing around...

Just playing around in Photoshop Elements (because I can't afford the BIG one) and decided after I touched up the pic that I really liked the eye/ear area. Go figure.

The ocean...

These pics are from our July road trip to a wedding in Pasadena, CA. We stopped in Monterey and Carmel by the Sea. Beautiful water! It was so BLUE! The mission at Carmel is so photo friendly. It cost about $3.00 or so to tour the grounds and was worth every penny.

I'm going away this weekend, to the ocean for a retreat. We have afternoons and evenings to ourselves, so I thought this might be a good time to wander off and find some low tide to photograph. I will hopefully (you see how faithful I have been to this blog. NOT!) post some pics from my trip soon.

My friend was just here and told me I should get a blog and post my pics....Man, I need a whoopin! I have a flickr acct. and that hasn't seen any activity in a long time either. Whew! Am I really that busy???

How long....

has it been since I posted to this site??? Wow!! Between Facebook, editing wedding pics, trying to figure out if my dvd player is a burner (wasted DVDs) and life in general, I just don't have time!!

Oh yeah! Update, I ended up getting another camera. I got a used K10D from Adorama. I like it alot. Nice heft. I'm sure I've taken another 5k pics since. I need to put it away and focus on printing and displaying more since I have a place to do it. Not a public place, per se, but at least a place.

Broke!!

Alas, my new camera is broken. I say new because I haven't even had it a year yet. I think it fell off of stuff one too many times. I might lay it on the chair when I get home, but someone would move on the couch and it would fall off. It was inside a padded case, but I guess the case is only so effective at breaking the fall. Sooooooooo, it's at California Precision Service, The largest DSLR, digital camera, film camera, film slr, medium format and lens repair facility in Sacramento and Northern California! They have cleaned my sensor before (it stayed clean for about 24 hours-I don't know what I'm doing wrong???) so hopefully they will be able to fix this. Hopefully it's not some huge obscene amount. Well, I guess that doesn't give me any excuse to not post pictures because I still have about 5000 pics on my computer that I have only glanced at as I was copying them out of my camera. Pitiful, I know. I'll get right on that. Right.

Looks like a collision!

My daughter looked at this picture and said, "Mom, they're going the wrong way! They're going to get hit by that truck." At the time I took the picture, I just saw galloping cows. I had never seen such a sight in my life! But when I looked again at the picture, she's right. It looks like the cows are running directly into trouble, and trouble is that semi. But it's only an optical illusion. Hey!! That'll preach!

Watermark

Hooray!! I finally figured out how to put a watermark on my pictures in Photoshop Elements! I did a baby blessing for a lady at my church. Before I let her preview them, I wanted to put a watermark on them so they didn't end up on someone's myspace page. Turns out, she doesn't even have a computer! Oh well, at least I figured out how to put the watermark on the picture.
